Three rice dishes that are cooked in the oven

Rice is so versatile and can be made in so many ways that the options for cooking it seem endless. Now, there are some ways of cooking it that are healthier than others. Preparing it in the oven is a great way to preserve fluffiness and flavor. 

That being said, let’s go over three rice dishes that are cooked in the oven and will grant you a great culinary pleasure.

Simple Baked Rice

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice
  • 2¼ cups of water
  • ¼ cup of butter
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp white vinegar

Butter a 2-quart baking dish and preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Pour the rice into the baking dish.  In a saucepan, stir the water, butter, salt, and vinegar and bring to a boil.  Pour this mixture over the rice and stir.  Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. 

Bake Rice Pilaf

Ingredients:

  • 1¾ cups of water
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup carrot, shredded
  • ¾ cup long grain rice
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of minced fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules

Combine all the ingredients in an 8-inch greased pan. Bake it covered at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, stirring after 25 minutes.

Baked Fried Brown Rice

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cold brown rice
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 cup frozen thawed edamame
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • ½ cup cashew pieces
  • Cooking spray

Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.  In a large bowl, combine the rice, the pineapple, green onions, edamame, and cashews.  In another small bowl, whisk together the oil, the sriracha, and the soy sauce. Pour the mixture in the small bowl over the ingredients in the large bowl. Stir thoroughly. Pour mixture into pan that has been buttered, oiled, or sprayed with Pam. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 20 minutes.
